What You’ll Do
As a staff accountant, you will assist in all accounting records, journals, and ledgers, as well as support numerous other accounting functions.
• Assist in the compilation and maintenance of journal vouchers and general ledger
• Enter journal vouchers and assist in the preparation of the internal financial package
• Assist in the maintenance and creation of fixed assets in the fixed asset system (currently FAS)
• Assist with year-end closing and preparation of year-end schedules
• Assist with external and internal audits
• Assist with financial and non-financial reporting for parent company
• Assist with sales and use tax reporting
• Responsible for escheat (unclaimed property) reporting
• Responsible for the completion of government surveys
• Assist in the completion of various federal, state, and local tax and government filings
• Assist with inter-company inventory reporting
• Various general ledger account reconciliation and analysis
• Enforce company policies and standards
• Perform other duties as required
• Maintain a well-organized workspace
Your Experiences & Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• One (1) to three (3) years of experience with general accounting functions
• Flexible to effectively adapt to changing conditions
• Ability to communicate effectively and work well with others, both verbally and in writing
• ERP and FAS experience is preferred
• Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
• Exceptional work ethic
• Responsive team player with the ability to quickly prioritize among numerous pressing tasks
