Position Synopsis
This position combines the financial expertise of a cost and operation accountant with the process optimization skills of an industrial engineer. The successful candidate will support and execute manufacturing and sales activities to include but not limited to cost & manufacturing accounting and financial analysis activities. This role supports the company’s financial performance by developing and maintaining cost accounting methodologies, providing detailed cost analyses, and collaborating with key stakeholders across the organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and the ability to change direction and handle multiple responsibilities and tasks on a regular basis.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The following duties are representative of the role but are not exhaustive. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
§ Responsible for reviewing and maintaining costs in the quotation database regularly
§ Document the current product cost, report on the historical cost trends, and review cost savings or increases that could impact the product’s price
§ Validate, track and forecast the cost associated with new and/or existing products
§ Works with engineering and management on new product development projects
§ Assists with developing cost targets and provides updates to actual cost performance compared to targets.
§ Conduct comprehensive financial analysis and forecasting to provide actionable insights, forecast analysis, and support executive-level planning and strategic recommendations.
§ Perform variance analysis to forecasted results, identifying specific drivers of deviations from estimates.
§ Design, develop and maintain business intelligence reports and dashboards using BI tools.
§ Collate Data from various source systems and databases and prepare data for BI reporting and ad hoc analysis tools
§ Ensure data accuracy and integrity across reports and dashboards
§ Collaborate with the internal sales team to provide a cost build-up for projects and special feature requests to meet customer needs.
§ Provide management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting pricing and profitability of products or services.
§ Determine root cause of costing issues and implement corrective actions as required
§ Prepare accurate cost estimates for new and/or existing products
Qualifications
4-year degree in either finance, accounting or engineering
§ 3+ years of experience in finance, accounting, pricing analysis or engineering, preferably in a manufacturing environment
§ 3+ years of experience with business intelligence tools such as Power BI
§ Proficient in data analysis for reporting tools
§ Convey data visualization findings through different formats such as graphs, tables, and power point slides.
§ Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills
§ Highly detail-oriented, organized and able to manage multiple tasks effectively
§ Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
§ Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments
