Strategic Sourcing Manager
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Define and implement purchasing strategies.
• Build along with maintain relationships with suppliers.
• Monitor performance of suppliers by assessing their ability to meet quality, delivery, and cost requirements.
• Research as well as develop alternative solutions resulting from component shortages or discontinuation.
• Develop new supply sources where current suppliers are inadequate.
• Identify and qualify new suppliers in collaboration with other departments.
• Negotiate and implement long term contracts with suppliers.
• Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with proven ability to create as well as maintain relationships with suppliers.
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize tasks and to delegate tasks when appropriate.
• Strong supervisory and leadership skills with ability to effectively train others.
• Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
• Understanding of business and management principles.
• Thorough understanding of materials and supplies used in the company.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) or related software.
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or 5+ years in a technical related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of Purchasing or Supply Chain Management in a manufacturing environment required.
Travel Required:
50% travel expected for this position within the United States and internationally.
