Job Description Technician: Water Fire, and Mold Mitigation Reports to: Technician Lead/Project Manager Experience - 1-2 years in Water and/or Fire Mitigation Industry/IICRC Certified (WRT)is a plus The Mitigation or Cleaning Technician is responsible for the mitigation or clean-up of residential or commercial buildings that have damaged and affected by water, fire, smoke or mold damage. The main duties of a technician may include: water/waste extraction, mold removal, demolition, drying surfaces, vacuuming, washing, content manipulation. Job Duties Inspect and assess damage that has been to home or business; find or confirm root cause of disaster. Obtain Work Authorization from Customer. Complete Tick Sheet identifying specific work that needs to be performed and equipment that is needed Gather needed supplies and equipment. Begin performing work or schedule with home/property manager to return as needed. Mitigation duties include, but are not limited to: ✓ Demolish and remove affected contents ✓ Extraction of water ✓ Remove mold ✓ Dry carpet, wall, sheetrock, subfloors ✓ Remove sewage overflow ✓ Board up windows ✓ Install subfloor or framing if needed ✓ Perform “Flood Cuts” on Dry Wall or remove entire sheet rock ✓ Contain exposed area using plastic; seal off needed areas Cleaning duties include, but are not limited to: ✓ Vacuum and clean mold; wipe with antimicrobial towel ✓ After fire damage, wash every content with “wall wash” ✓ Paint surface areas, most often new dry wall and doors ✓ Caulk, fill nail holes (trim and cabinets) to prepare for paint ✓ Pack out items and cleaning line (depending on quantity and size) ✓ Take soiled materials (clothes, bedding, curtains, etc) for cleaning Monitor equipment and take daily logs on drying process and enter line items into Mica software system. Physical: Able to lift, pull, push, and carry up to 75 pounds. Able to work in tight (crawl) spaces for extended periods of time. Must have a clean and professional appearance.
