Job Summary
This leader plans, develops and directs the activities of the departments or divisions and is responsible for identification, cultivation, and solicitation of prospects for planned gifts and gifts of $50,000 and up on behalf of Sarasota Memorial Healthcare Foundation, Inc. in support of its philanthropic mission. In this role, the leader sets the tone and models positive leadership behavior, while ensuring department and division projects and responsibilities are completed successfully in support of organizational goals.
Required Qualifications
• Require a bachelor’s degree in related field and/or commiserate work experience.
• Require a minimum of seven (7) years of progressively successful experience.
Preferred Qualifications
• Prefer Certified Fund Raising Executive (CRFE), Fellow of the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (FAHP), or Advanced Certified Fundraising Executive (ACFRE) certification.
• Prefer exceptional collaborative and team building skills.
• Prefer enthusiasm to stay current with relevant professional information, trends, and technology.
• Prefer experience fundraising for a capital campaign.
• Prefer successful track record in soliciting and closing six, seven and eight figure gifts, as well as, planned gifts.
• Prefer the ability to work independently with a high level of initiative in a deadline-orientated team environment.
• Prefer strong interpersonal skills; possess a comfort level in dealing with high net worth individuals.
• Prefer a high level of sophistication and maturity in social and professional settings.
• Prefer the ability to subscribe to the AHP, AFP Standards of Ethics and the Donor Bill of Rights and have integrity, intelligence, a passion for fundraising, good energy level and ability to work as a team player.
• Prefer excellent communication skills, orally and written, and proficiency in using computer programs such as Raiser’s Edge, Microsoft Office and Wealth Engine.
• Prefer the ability to organize, motivate and garner support.
• Prefer knowledge of fundamentals of fundraising including prospect discovery, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
