We offer a rewarding opportunity for a Logistics Coordinator at our corporate offices and manufacturing facility located in Marion, IN. Logistics Coordinator The selected candidate will ideally have several years of progressing responsibility including team leadership and possess a strong analytical background. The candidate will have demonstrated success leading logistics networks across North America. The candidate will use their strong background in further developing the logistics system across the Hartson-Kennedy network. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, EXPERIENCE · Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in related field · 5-10 years proven experience working in the transportation industry · Solid knowledge of supply chain management Logistics · Understanding of DOT regulations · Experience with FTL, Private Fleet, LTL, Parcel · Proven experience working with Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point · Candidate must be able to work independently and demonstrate the ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time effectively. · Precise attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills required. · Investigate 3PL transportation opportunities · Use of TMS and advanced dispatching functions · Understand the dynamics of "Last Mile Deliveries" DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES · Planning and supervising the shipments from production to end-user · Develop dispatching and routing activities on outbound shipments within HK and Formica · Track and Monitor shipments to assure commitments are met and resolve daily transportation need. · Negotiate and secure transportation agreements with transportation partners. Conduct an annual bid process to ensure best prices available within given timeframe. · Analyze shipping volumes at HK and Formica locations to develop synergies resulting in improved service and costs · Maintain knowledge of regulations related to transportation including but not limited to those related to hazmat shipments, safety, and freight classifications. · Ensure compliance with export and domestic shipping legislation · Manage carrier performance and relationships · Collaboration with other departments, develops and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives for transportation operations. · Review and analyze expenditures and other financial information; use results to develop and implement policies, plans, and budgets. · Manage freight invoice review process. · Develop a preferred carrier lists to be used by Hartson-Kennedy locations. · Perform other duties as needed.
