MPD, Inc. is 100% employee owned through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan, (ESOP). The Electronics Engineer is responsible for designing the various electronics our customers purchase and use. The Electronics Engineer will anticipate customer needs for technology and pricing, use software to create blueprints and running tests on designs to ensure efficiency and troubleshoot problems. Efforts will contribute directly to new instrument development as well as to modifications and support of existing instrumentation. This position works closely with other engineers, technical support, manufacturing, and the sales team to meet customer demands. Develop and maintain: Hardware / software design for embedded microprocessor based products. Software/Firmware languages: C, C++, C#, and Assembly languages. Software emulators. Develop test programs and test procedures. PCB Design, Schematic Development, and Circuit Layout. Experience in digital and analog circuit design for a micro-processor-based system. Prototype testing and modification. Troubleshoot instruments to component level. Prepare user documentation. Interfacing with customers to identify user needs and propose suitable solutions. Ability to travel to customer and vendor sites for projects and/or training, as needed. Complete all other duties as assigned by Manager. Design electronic systems, products, software and components for scientific, military, medical, industrial, aviation, and commercial applications Analyze customer needs to determine cost, capacity and requirements for creating an electrical system plan Create testing procedures and maintenance for electronic equipment and components Recommend design modifications and equipment repair Inspect electronic systems, instruments and equipment to ensure they meet applicable regulations and safety standards Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent. 2-5 years experience with: Digital software/hardware development for instrumentation built on embedded systems C/C++ program development in conjunction with real time operating systems Utilization of software version control tools Solid skills in developing applications and SDKs for Windows CE/Mobile platform. Solid written and oral communication skills Ability to meet physical demands of position including but not limited to: Sedentary work station - sitting, bending, turning, typing, grasping. Lifting up to 25 pounds, as needed. Sound visual acuity to see and manipulate small electronic components and view computer screen. Benefits Benefits are available on the first day of employment.
