Job Summary Responsible for the management of the daily operation of the Medical Staff Office and the Medical Library for the key processes of medical staff and allied health credentialing and privileging, continuing medical education, physician pay for call program, and medical library. # Job Responsibilities Works closely with Department Chiefs/Committee Chairs of the medical staff to ensure that they are performing the duties and responsibilities as outlined in the Medical Staff By-law documents. Provides oversight for the function of credentialing, privileging, reappointment of all medical staff members, and allied health professionals. Maintains a thorough knowledge and understanding of the Medical Staff By-Law documents. Maintains a thorough knowledge and understanding of regulatory standards and implements policies and processes to comply with standards. Provides oversight to the Providers# responsibilities for the pay for call program, Continuing Medical Education (CME), and medical library services. Assists with developing specific department goals, standards, and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization. Supports special projects and business analysis as requested. Researches and applies industry benchmarks and practices. Qualifications Bachelor#s degree or higher in Business Administration required upon hire OR Bachelor#s degree or higher in Healthcare Administration required upon hire OR Bachelor#s degree or higher in related field required upon hire A combination of education, training and experience may be considered in lieu of degree. A minimum of 4 years# relevant experience required# Leadership experience preferred No licensure/certification/registration required Skills and Attributes Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment. Works under minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Requires an in-depth understanding of the specialized concepts, practices, and procedures in the area of specialization. Utilizes in-depth knowledge of the specialization as well as business needs to recommend appropriate action.
