The Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician will assist the pharmacist with providing safe and appropriate pharmacy services to our patients in accordance with the policies and procedures of Pharmacy Solutions, the state’s professional standards, and other regulatory entities. The Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician works under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, working in the clean room and compounding medication. A Sterile Compounding PharmacyTechnician is experienced in all aspects of medication compounding and plays a significant role in the coordination of patient services. Job Specific Requirements: Keep equipment operating by following operating instructions. Update job knowledge by participating in training opportunities. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt with change of workflow. Properly use, calibrate, and maintains equipment needed in making of compounds. Sampling batches for quality testing. Executes required in-process product quality checks and documents accurately. Perform miscellaneous inventory of consumables to ensure proper stock. Operate, clean, and sterilize aseptic compounding equipment and compounding areas. Maintain housekeeping standards in the compounding areas. Participate in training of other staff. Ensure all calculations on compounding log sheets are accurate and correct. Tracking, ordering, and receiving orders of supplies. Follow all SOPs, USP and all other safety and company policies, double check calculations, record compounding procedures, lot and expiry of ingredients. Coordinate with other pharmacy team members to compound preparations and execute quality assurance procedures, following standard operating procedures. Ensure all compounds are prepared in accordance to the master formulas and in accordance with USP<795>, USP <797>, and USP<800>. Responsible for inspection, maintenance, cleaning, and sterilization of all laboratory equipment, instruments, utensils, and work surfaces necessary/required for the preparations. Monitor and record inventory of chemicals, materials, consumables, and other required items. Cleaning of all work areas, including work surfaces, equipment, floors, walls etc, Must maintain an active and unrestricted pharmacy technician certificate in current state of practice. Job Requirements: Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures and ensures services are provided in a manner consistent with established standards of practice, federal and state regulations, and accreditation standards. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers. Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service. Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices. Maintains confidentiality of patient and competitive information. Participates in the AvevoRx Quality Assurance Program. Completes work on schedule. All other duties as assigned. Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs. Standing, walking, and bending for long period of time. Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone. Immunizations as required and TB test/screen annually. Required Qualifications: 1 year of experience as a certified Pharmacy Technician Required. High School Diploma or equivalent. Current Indiana Pharmacy Technician Certificate – 1 year of sterile compounding lab or non-sterile compounding lab experience. Ability to cope with varied levels of workload and multiple tasks. Strong time management and organizational skills. Excellent communication skills, both orally and written. Willingness to be a team player and promote a positive team environment. Excellent attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Compounder/PK Software a plus. Experience with CPR+. Experience with maintaining and managing a clean room under USP 797 standards. Bi-lingual (fluent English and Spanish) candidates.
