Dental Receptionist
Hiring Range - $15.00 - 16.25\hour
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
General Description
This position required working collaboratively with all dental staff, including dentists and dental hygienists. The Dental Receptionist is responsible for greeting, instructing, directing, and scheduling patients and the general public. This position serves as a liaison between the patient and dental clinical staff.

Essential Duties
• Greet patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous and helpful manner.
• Check patients in and out for appointments properly.
• Create, maintain, and oversee dental clinic schedule.
• Maintain recall system.
• Oversee clinic information.
• Work collaboratively with Medical Front Desk to ensure Discount Program patients are covered adequately.
• Verify cash box each morning and balances at the end of day.
• Assist with ECP process as necessary.
• Submit fluoride varnish claims to Kansas Medicaid companies
• Participates in quarterly chart audits.
• Scan documents.
• Checking answering machine.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, patients, and the public.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Excellent customer service skills and ability to effectively and respectfully interact with unsatisfied patients and
coworkers.

• Effective and efficient time management.
• Ability to work independently and use good judgment and have initiative to seek out additional duties.
• Knowledge of standard office machines including copier, fax, multi-line phones, printers, scanners, etc.
Education and Experience
• High School Diploma;
• One year experience in an office environment (previous experience in a dental setting preferred);
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, and desktop publishing;
• Social and cultural sensitivity appropriate to ethnically and economically diverse patient and employee-base;
• Spanish Bilingual preferred, but not required.
