Development Services Coordinator

To support our continued growth, we are seeking a specialized Development Services Coordinator to provide project due diligence, public and private sector plan review and permitting services. This role will report to Stephanie Merdan, Development Services Team Lead.
Essential Duties
• Perform project due diligence, research, and thorough documentation of entitlement activities including developing an overview of design guidelines, zoning, and available maps and reports
• Develop and effectively execute a strategy to garner appropriate project approvals
• Demonstrate advanced understanding of public and private sector permitting for a variety of project types
• Prepare comprehensive plan review and permit packages, schedules, and presentation materials
• Coordinate and lead pre-application conference meetings
• Prepare and submit permit and plan review applications, narratives, and responses
• Coordinate with plan review and permit agencies
• Strive to accelerate review processes whenever possible
• Coordinate with internal team members and consultants from a variety of backgrounds and design disciplines
• Build client and review entity relationships
• Track information on processes and relationships
• Track and schedule permit tasks and provide regular updates to Project Managers
• Conduct pre-and-post submittal quality reviews
• Participate in presentations and client meetings as requested
• Participate in public engagement workshops and presentations as requested
• Attend and present during public meetings including City Council and Planning Commission meetings
• Utilize your professional and personal network to develop business opportunities
Qualifications
• Detail oriented, inquisitive approach and superior investigation skills are paramount
• Experience in design, public process, or project management
• Working knowledge of the principles and practices of planning and zoning ordinances and land development processes
• Familiarity of City, County, and State review processes including the application process for variances, CUPs, PUDs, zoning amendments, and various plan review requirements
• Understand the relationship between zoning ordinances and building code requirements
• Experience with environmental permitting is beneficial, but not required
• Experience managing multiple simultaneous projects amongst cross-disciplinary teams with competing priorities
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, OneNote, BlueBeam, and ESRI ArcGIS preferred
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
