Manufacturing Engineer
Brief Description
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for optimizing production processes by analyzing current methods, designing and implementing improvements to equipment and workflows, ensuring quality standards are met, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.
• Apply VSM, Lean Manufacturing, and 5S skills to effectively map the manufacturing processes to identify and implement process improvement opportunities.
• Lead factory initiatives around safety, quality, continuous improvement (CI), lean manufacturing, mistake proofing, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Lead cultural change to a lean philosophy through communication of vision and expectations.
• Train others to execute Lean manufacturing techniques and design.
• Develop and implement project plans to achieve Future State.
• Purchase new manufacturing equipment, install and commission.
• Design machine and tools for new product or process.
• Manage capital projects to support strategic objectives.
• Facilitate operational cost reduction through productivity or material cost improvements supporting annual objectives.
• Develop and document factory capacity and bottleneck analyses.
• Develop, implement, and maintain manufacturing procedures/processes, including instruction manuals, documentation, pictures, step by step procedures, and training.
• Develop capacity improvement plans for inclusion into CI or capital planning.
• Support multiple sites as necessary to facilitate improvements as required.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers across the organization in multiple locations to identify and implement enhanced processes and systems.

Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or equivalent previous work history in a manufacturing environment
• Minimum 5 years practical experience in a similar setting
• Proficient with AutoCAD & Excel
• Lean manufacturing training and experience
• Project management experience is a must
• Strong ability to explain topics and influence others
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Bias to action and driving results
• Ability to exercise professional influence with tact and ethics when dealing with vendors, co-workers, and customers
