Cage Shift Manager
FUNCTION
The Cage Shift Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations of the cage during an assigned shift, ensuring efficient and secure handling of cash and gaming transactions. This role includes supervising cage staff, monitoring cash flow, providing excellent customer service, ensuring compliance with gaming regulations, and maintaining the security and integrity of all financial transactions. The Cage Shift Manager works closely with other departments, including surveillance and security, to ensure smooth and secure operations throughout the facility.

• Supervise Cage Operations: Oversee and manage the cage staff during an assigned shift, ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and compliance with all relevant regulations.
• Cash and Transaction Management: Monitor and manage the flow of cash, chips, and currency transactions to ensure accuracy, compliance, and security. This includes ensuring correct payouts, cashier exchanges, and chip counts.
• Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by assisting guests with financial transactions, resolving any issues or concerns, and ensuring a positive experience.
• Staff Supervision: Direct and coordinate the activities of cage cashiers and other team members, including assigning duties, monitoring performance, and providing guidance and training as needed.
• Monitoring Compliance: Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and state gaming regulations regarding financial transactions, documentation, and security.
• Safety and Security: Work closely with surveillance and security teams to prevent and resolve any discrepancies or theft. Ensure that all transactions are securely processed and that the cash handling process is protected.
• Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions, including daily reports on cash movement, inventory, and any incidents that may occur during the shift.
• Inventory Control: Monitor and control the inventory of chips, cash, and other financial resources to ensure proper reconciliation at the end of the shift.
• Problem Resolution: Address and resolve any customer or operational issues, including discrepancies, complaints, and emergencies, in a timely and professional manner.
• Training and Development: Train new staff and provide ongoing training to ensure high levels of performance and compliance with operational and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain Confidentiality: Safeguard sensitive financial information and protect the integrity of the facility’s operations.
• Other duties as assigned.
STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE
• Available to work when needed, including weekends, holidays, and nights.
Education, Training, And Experience
• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college education or related training preferred.
• Prior experience in cage operations, cashiering, or a related field in a casino environment required; supervisory experience is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of gaming regulations, cash handling procedures, and casino operations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in basic math, with attention to detail in transaction processing.
• Ability to work independently and handle cash-related issues with integrity.
• Able to obtain and maintain a valid Kentucky gaming/racing license.
