Manager of Materials - Purchasing Manager
Job Summary
Manages the daily operations of Materials Management department.
Job Responsibilities
• Develops and implements policies and procedures related to purchasing functions, warehousing, inventory control, receiving, and supply distribution of materials, forms, mail, supplies, and equipment for hospital use.
• Manages the flow of supplies, products, and services from source to point of use.
• Oversees the interviewing and negotiating with sales representatives.
• Manages the development of Requests for Proposals (RFP's) bids and quotations.
• Manages the review and analysis of Group Purchasing contracts and ensures compliance, financial accounting, and product standardization.
• Assists with developing specific departmental goals, standards, and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.
• Manages staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction, and conflict management.
• Performs and manages scheduling, recruitment, and payroll.
• Monitors department budgets, regulatory compliance, department contracts, and vendor relations.
• Supports special projects and business analysis as requested.
• Collaborates with other departments to evaluate service levels and to identify potential process improvements.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Business Administration required upon hire OR
• Bachelor's degree or higher in related field required upon hire
• A combination of education, training and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• A minimum of 4 years' relevant experience required
• No licensure/certification/registration required
