The Process Technology department is looking for a Process Engineering Intern to join their team in Le Sueur, MN!
Position Summary:
The Process Engineering Intern will work on project-based tasks such as troubleshooting manufacturing equipment, identifying and implementing process improvements, and conducting downtime analysis. They will collaborate with both the Process and Production teams, support the design and optimization of new equipment, and develop testing protocols. This internship offers valuable experience in a fast-paced environment, providing the opportunity to contribute to process efficiency and quality improvements while upholding Cambria’s safety standards and company values.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Complete and present a capstone project related to department business needs. This will include research, analysis, and presenting the overall findings and suggestions to peers and Cambria Leaders.
• Perform live troubleshooting on manufacturing equipment
• Facilitate initiatives designed to improve the process
• Identify, develop, and implement control strategies
• Diagnose and troubleshoot production incidents that arise
• Navigate appropriate internal and external resources to identify and execute improvement opportunities
• Identify bottlenecks in the process and develop solutions to improve its performance
• Perform downtime analysis and work with necessary departments to develop and implement solutions to minimize equipment downtime
• Monitor and improve slab quality
• Maintain a priority for safety and engage in initiatives within area of ownership
• Work in a multi directional environment with responsibilities in both process and production line
• Partner with Project Engineering in designing, commissioning, and optimizing new equipment
• Coordinate trials by developing testing protocols, adapting protocols, or managing data
• Perform job duties safely as outlined in the Process Technology Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Collect and present findings to leadership groups at the end of the summer
• Uphold company culture and values through accountability, innovation, integrity, quality and teamwork
• Maintain a positive and energetic interface with all staff members, provide direction as well as be a leader and teacher at all times
Qualifications & Skills:
• Ability to become certified in Chemical Handling
• Ability to read and write in English to complete required documentation
• Basic computer skills
• Demonstrate level of confidentiality and professionalism
Minimum Requirements:
Education: Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a Bachelor's program in Engineering or a related program. Expected graduation date of 2025, 2026, and 2027.
Experience: Some experience in a related field preferred
Systems: N/A
Preferred Qualifications:
• Critical thinking and troubleshooting skills
• Mechanically inclined
• 1+ year previous experience in manufacturing, construction, or other hands-on environment
• Google Suite experience
Additional Requirements:
Managerial Responsibilities: No
Travel Requirements: Limited travel locally (Eden Prairie, Le Sueur, and Belle Plaine )
Physical Requirements:
• Lift up to 30 lbs.
• Stand on feet for extended periods of time
• Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided by Cambria
• Participate in daily stretch and flex exercises
• Occasionally work in wet and/or humid conditions
• Work in a non-climate controlled environment
• Walk up and down steps multiple times throughout shift
• Bend over multiple times throughout shift
Program Dates: May 19, 2025 - August 8, 2025; M-F; 40 hour work week

Cambria’s hourly rate for this position is $18. Hourly rates are determined by role, level, and location. The rate displayed on each job posting reflects the target for new hires for the position. Individual pay is determined by several factors, including work location, job-related experience, and relevant education and/or training
