Position Summary:
As a Materials Planning Manager, you play a critical role in supporting all pre-planning, planning and material procurement functions. Applying existing and improving upon the implementation of best practices procedures and strategies to improve team performance to meet organizational goals and growth strategies. Responsibilities consist of managing, communicating with, and directing staff providing day-to-day leadership for planning activities, forecasting functions through procurement deliveries align with organizational requirements and production planning.
Key Accountabilities:
• Ensure that material scheduling strategies and processes are in place and work efficiently to secure right-size inventory that aligns with requirement dates providing stable supply and development.
• Ensure that production planning is in alignment with customer needs and supplier capabilities.
• Assess volume requirements against planning assumptions for inventory planning, manage inventory risk, and ensure that contingency plans are in place for rapid response to planning changes.
• Support and lead team to ensure accurate monthly forecasting, production capacity planning and new order intake providing optimization and improvement ensuring that sales planning process through part procurement are adhered to.
• Ensure that material requirements planning systems (MRP) are in place and utilized to ensure data accurately maintained to provide the ability to quickly resolve any issues and problem solving within SAP and/or external software tools.
• Assist with developing and maintaining departmental order execution processes and compliance.
• Determine priorities and implement Continuous Improvement initiatives with the team to increase value-added processes within your area of responsibility and supporting departments.
• Work closely with other departments to improve efficiencies and throughput and maintain positive working relationships and ensuring thorough and top-notch communication to all stakeholders.
• Establish KPI setting, tracking, monitoring, and reporting.
• Promote a compliance culture in area of responsibility and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls Royce Code of Conduct.
• Perform special projects as required.
Basic Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, or Supply Chain Management and 5 years of experience in supply chain and/or material planning management; or 9 years of experience in supply chain and/or material planning management
• Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident to be considered for this position
Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledge of logistics and production processes and other techniques for maximizing the effective distribution of goods
• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for order processing, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
• Knowledge of mtu products, policies, and procedures.
• Knowledge of engine-generator set manufacturing and processes.
• Knowledge of SAP or similar ERP system, forecasting, procurement strategies and scheduling.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational, planning and follow up skills.
