Production Manager
Bascom Hunter provides aerospace and defense products of the highest performance, engineered for resilience while meeting extreme requirements. We have two distinct divisions, Xcelaero and BH Tech. This role will be within the Xcelaero division. As a Production Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day production operations, ensuring product quality, meeting production goals, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in enhancing our production processes and driving operational excellence.
Responsibilities
• Monitor production schedules and ensure that all production targets are met or exceeded
• Supervise and evaluate the performance of technicians, and inventory personnel. Train, mentor, and develop team members as needed.
• Understand time required to build various assemblies
• Manage sales orders, purchase orders, and change orders to ensure optimal OTD to customers
• Become proficient in internal ERP and MRP systems
• Liaison to engineering team for manufacturing related issues
• Liaison to quality team for compliance with all applicable standards
• Support product builds in shop/lab
• Optimize the use of resources, including labor, materials, and equipment, to maximize production efficiency.
Requirements And Skills
• Experience: Proven experience as a production manager.
• Personnel Supervision: Supervise and evaluate the performance of production personnel, including quality inspectors, technicians, and inventory personnel.
• Formulating Objectives: Liaise with other managers to formulate production objectives.
• Cost Estimation and Budgeting: Estimate costs and prepare budgets for production activities.
• Maintenance and Equipment Approval: Approve maintenance work and equipment purchases.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure that the output meets quality standards.
• Health and Safety: Enforce health and safety precautions.
• Reporting: Regularly report to upper management on production metrics.
• Decision-Making: Strong decision-making skills and a results-driven approach.
• Education: A BS/BA in business administration or a relevant field is preferred.
• A United States Citizen, able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense Security Clearance.
