Job Title: Senior Structural Engineer Job Description We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Structural Engineer to provide comprehensive design solutions from concept to final construction. This role involves applying design loads to structures, designing and analyzing structures to meet project-specific and code requirements, and developing detailed engineering design calculation packages. The Senior Structural Engineer will lead junior engineers and drafters, coordinate design solutions with clients and other engineering disciplines, and assist with project planning and management.
Responsibilities • Provide complete design solutions from concept to final design and construction.
• Apply design loading to structures using applicable building codes and design codes.
• Design and analyze structures to meet project-specific and code requirements using both hand and finite element analysis.
• Develop engineering design calculation packages, including static, dynamic, blast, vibration, and thermal stresses.
• Evaluate the life of structural components for low and high cycle fatigue.
• Oversee detailed design and development of 3D models and 2D drawings.
• Prepare construction bid packages including calculations, specifications, and drawings.
• Perform post-design activities such as reviewing subcontractor submittals, RFIs, and shop drawings.
• Conduct site inspections at construction sites to ensure facilities are built according to contract documents.
• Provide leadership for junior engineers and drafters/designers.
• Coordinate and communicate design solutions with clients and other engineering disciplines through presentations, design review meetings, and training.
• Assist with project planning, cost estimating, proposals, project management, and marketing.
• Work independently and as part of a multi-disciplined team to meet project budgets and schedules.
Essential Skills • 15+ years of experience in the design and analysis of special structures.
• BS degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related engineering field.
• Demonstrated leadership ability.
• Proficiency in structural design using Linear and Non-linear Finite Element Analysis (including STAAD and ANSYS).
• Experience with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section VIII, Division 1 & 2.
• Knowledge of dynamic and impact loading including non-linear behavior.
• Experience with blast loading (UFC 3-340-02 Structures to Resist the Effects of Accidental Explosions).
• Proficiency in Vibration Structural Response Analysis, including fatigue analysis.
• Familiarity with structural design codes such as IBC Code, AISC Steel Code, ACI Code, and ASCE Minimum Design Loads.
• Strong time management skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience in project management.
• Licensed Structural Engineer.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $67.31 - $81.73
