Job Summary
Manages the care of neuro-endovascular surgery (NES) patients in conjunction with the patient's multi-disciplinary care team, according to agreed upon clinical guidelines, with the objective of coordinating high quality patient care across all care delivery sites. Functions as a clinician, educator, and resource for patients, families, staff, community and physicians. Supports the triage of incoming referrals for appropriateness and assist in obtaining pertinent diagnostic information prior to visit/treatment.
Essential Functions

• Provide clinical consultant and education to patients, families, staff, and other disciplines that have contact or care responsibilities for the neuro-endovascular surgery (NES) patient population.
• Evaluate patients to confirm eligibility appropriate for identified NES procedures, access internal/external medical records, analyze clinical data, document risk factors, arrange diagnostic testing, and compile information for physician review.
• Reviews program data for identification of PI opportunities, refers those to appropriate persons for further review, and assists with developing and implementing PI initiatives to continuously improve clinical and financial outcomes of NES related care.
• Plan long-term follow-up care of NES patients and compile treatment options. Provide patients with educational reinforcement and feedback on their progress. Provide clinical care to include office visits, admission/discharge orders and planning.
• Assist with maintenance of program-associated registries. Collect and submit required patient data. Maintain documentation to meet regulatory standards and ensure compliance with applicable policies and guidelines.
• Conduct quality assurance/improvement assets as needed. Assist with development of standard protocols and procedure for the NES program to optimize outcomes.
• Completes other duties including assistance with research registries, clinical trials, and regulatory tasks.
• Participates in interdisciplinary teams to develop, implement, and evaluate new processes of care as determined by the team.
• Assist with service recovery and complaint resolution relative to care of NES/stroke patients.
• Assists with resolution of issues related to payers and reimbursement for NES/stroke care. Includes processing of pertinent patient insurance, work, study forms, etc. during patient care rounds.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory/Management Responsibilities
• This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.
Minimum Requirements
• Education - Bachelor's degree in Nursing
• Experience - Three (3) years Nursing. Two (2) years of neuroscience nursing experience. Familiarity with neuro-endovascular procedures and patient care processes pre-hospital, hospital and follow-up

Required Certifications, Registrations, Licenses
• Licensed to practice as a RN in South Carolina
• Certification as one of the following preferred: Stroke Certified Registered Nurse (SCRN) through American Board of Neuroscience Nursing (ABNN); or Certified Neuroscience Registered Nurse (CNRN) through the American Board of Neuroscience Nursing (ABNN); or,
• Neurovascular RN (NVRN) through the Association of Neurovascular Clinicians (ANVC).
• Team members in this job will be expected to obtain a related certification as listed above.
