In this role you will work with a team who support the production of metal fabricated parts used in Vermeer equipment. We’re looking for a team member who can work effectively with others - from machinists operating equipment to leaders in manufacturing.What You’ll Do1. Collaborate with a cross functional team to support and drive improvements to existing machining equipment and tooling.2. Work with a team to research, develop, and implement new machine tool equipment and tooling to drive safety, quality, and productivity improvements.3. Understand part requirements, equipment process capability, and influence part designs to enable safe, quality, and efficient manufacturing.4. Based on part drawings and information provided, create new and maintain/improve existing computer numerical control (CNC) programs used to direct CNC machine tools to manufacture parts safely and to the quality needed. 5. Create and maintain documentation around the setup and operation of CNC equipment, create SolidWorks models of work holding and jaw designs needed, and order and maintain tooling required for machines.6. Capable of problem solving mechanical, tooling, and operator challenges, getting to root cause, and working cross functionally to drive and maintain improvements.What We’re Looking For- High school diploma with minimum three years previous experience of machine shop fabrication experience; and/or equivalent combination of education/experience required.- Desire to understand the technical details of manufacturing processes including safety, continuous improvement, GD&T, process capability, manufacturing data, capacity planning, and manufacturing flow.- Prior experience implementing manufacturing equipment, making parts out of steel in manufacturing, continuous improvement, technology transfer, and supporting existing manufacturing cells, preferred.- Competent with SolidWorks, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook preferred.Travel - Occasional travel is expected of this position.Work LocationONSITE: A team member’s day-to-day work is best done on a Vermeer campus.
