By blending people-centric leadership with disciplined operational strategies and purpose-driven growth, Barry-Wehmiller has become a $3 billion organization with nearly 12,000 team members united by a common belief: to use the power of business to build a better world. Job Description:The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager plays a pivotal role in creating a safe, sustainable, and efficient work environment for our North America facilities (Brooklyn Park, MN & Duncan, SC). This dynamic position oversees the site's safety and facilities programs, ensuring compliance, promoting a positive safety culture, and driving continuous improvement across the sites. The EHS Manager leads by example, inspiring team members to develop and apply their talents to achieve their full potential.Primary Responsibilities:Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive safety and environmental programs to ensure the well-being of all team members.Provide engaging safety training on policies, regulations, and best practices.Maintain and enforce safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.Design and execute a continuous improvement roadmap aligned with Lean principles.Offer strategic guidance and professional action on all health and safety matters.Create an inspiring team environment for direct reports by setting clear goals, monitoring performance, and fostering personal and professional growth.Conduct gemba walks, inspections, and performance reviews to reduce risks and ensure adherence to safety standards.Identify and implement best practices to raise safety awareness, reduce workplace risks, and promote safe work practices.Ensure all safety and facilities inspections are completed and documented in compliance with regulations.Lead the Safety Committee and on-site First Responder Team, fostering employee engagement and influencing safe behaviors.Investigate safety incidents and near misses, deliver timely reports, and implement root-cause prevention strategies.Oversee contracts and service providers for site services, including maintenance, utilities, cleaning, security, and waste management.Manage preventive and corrective maintenance on building systems, machinery, and equipment.Maintain accurate records of workers’ compensation claims.Monitor and drive sustainability initiatives, such as energy savings and recycling programs.Represent the company during third-party inspections and safety audits.Manage the departmental budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation.Perform other duties as assigned.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in a Safety related discipline, or a technical field5+ years of safety leadership experience in a manufacturing or production environmentMust be willing travel 25% At Barry-Wehmiller we recognize that people come with a wealth of experience and talent beyond just the technical requirements of a job.  If your experience is close to what you see listed here, please still consider applying.  We know that our differences often can bring about innovation, excellence and meaningful work—therefore, people from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply to our positions.  Please let us know if you require reasonable accommodations during the interview process. ​Barry-Wehmiller is an equal opportunity employer.
