Job Description:Manufacturing EngineerThe person hired for this position will provide technical leadership and oversee manufacturing support of multiple 3M Divisions, products, processes, and systems. They will be responsible for advising, consulting, and troubleshooting product and processes at the 3M Greenville Site supporting the TEBG Film Manufacturing Product Family.The Impact You’ll Make in this RoleAs a Manufacturing Engineer you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:Initiates, identifies, recommends and leads projects in the manufacturing area of responsibility to improve process safety, quality, service, product cost and health/environmental impactPrograms must meet overall project timelinesResponsible for performing and guiding technical activities resulting from approved, self-initiated, or assigned manufacturing programs leading to innovative applications and extensions of existing or new products/technologies having major importance to the businessActively participate in the day-to-day operations, specifically daily tier process, EHS activities, MOC process change management, asset performance analysis, and resolution of any gaps to KPI targetsLead improvement projects and problem-solving events to determine root causes for problems that occur and implement permanent long-term solutions to resolve those problemsMonitor and improve manufacturing operations using Lean Six Sigma tools and methodology (design of experiments, statistical process control, lean management system, kaizens, DMAIC)Drive process understanding (PPU) efforts and product change processes to support business portfolio needs.Work closely with production and maintenance teams to perform troubleshooting activities and resolve equipment/downtime issues.Responsible for product release based on understanding of next step use and relationship with 3M partner divisions.Utilize strong communication skills to inspire, influence, motivate and teach other team members.Supporting a dynamic 24x7 operations through on-site support and a willingness to be on-call.Your Skills and ExpertiseTo set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institutionTwo (2) years of manufacturing experience in either product, chemical, process or other manufacturing engineering disciplines.Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:Bachelor's degree in mechanical or chemical engineering (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution - preferredExperience in quality managementFive or more years of manufacturing engineering experienceTechnical experience in plastic recycling, film extrusion, web handling, coating, and drying.Demonstrated multidiscipline project & process leadership skills including strong written and oral communication skillsTravel: May include up to 10% Domestic TravelRelocation Assistance: May be authorizedMust be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).Supporting Your Well-being 3M offers many programs to help you live your best life – both physically and financially.
