Full-Time Job Details Description About the Role – You will: Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures. Complies with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions. Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols. Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with data storage system. Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement. Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions. Completes warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results. Maintains warehouse staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees. Maintains warehouse staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Control and ensure material availability at “True Point of Use” Support Material Synchronization Process maintaining visibility of potential shortages and true shortages Support Visual Manufacturing Flow (including materials) and Manufacturing progress control Maintains materials presentation and delivery techniques (“True point of use” delivery) according to the changes in the manufacturing process and the manufacturing speeds Develop and control materials picking and delivery schedules based on the master production schedule. Direct materials staff to insure schedules and budgets are achieved. Analyze past business cycles and trends, and developing specific unit forecasts. Issue all orders to manufacturing functions in the proper sequence and order size based on requirements, master scheduling and inventory goals. Responsible for on-time delivery performance and identifying and solving problems impeding on-time delivery for all orders. Manage inventory levels in accordance with plant, group and corporate goalsand methodologies. Manages the movement of material from min/max and Kanban systems through the assembly processes. Supports the quality department with the control of non-conforming material. Receives, coordinates, inputs and establishes the manufacturing bills of materials per engineering orders as well as plans add/delete dates on engineering changes. Responsible for continuous improvement of materials processes and Plan for Every Part process. Supports the achievement of production objectives. Other duties as assigned by management. This position will be part of the Greenville based Warehouse and Materials team that supports Proterra’s Manufacturing and Engineering operations in Greenville, SC. You will report to the Materials Directorand collaborate with other Warehouse and Materials team members located at our headquarters in Burlingame, CA. Your Experience Includes: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance or Engineering or equivalent relevant experience 5 years’ experience within Supply Chain/ Materials Management APICS certification preferred Must demonstrate strong experience in supervision and/or managing people. Experience in a manufacturing environment and inter-relationship with other areas is required and includes knowledge of the purchasing function. Proven ability to be an effective communicator and possesses the ability to effectively work with a team to achieve success. Physical Demands: May work various shifts as needed; may be requested to travel to different locations. Lifting up to 25 pounds and occasionally 50 pounds. Able to walk, stand, crouch, bench, kneel, lift, carry and reach as needed in large and tight spaces. Good eye/hand coordination and ability to identify color variations, depth perceptions and close or distance visual items. Manual dexterity with occasional repetitive finger motion. Environmental Demands: Ability to work in manufacturing environment with extreme heat and cold conditions. Wear protective clothing or respiratory protective equipment.
