TITLE Finance Assistant Temp
REPORTS TO Chief Financial Officer
SALARY GRADE $20/Hour
NATURE OF WORK Understand and perform school district’s financial administration duties.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Assist with budget transfers.
• Assist with general ledger reclassifications.
• Various clerical duties, e.g., filing, record keeping, correspondence, written and verbal job verification.
• Maintain timely and accurate records, work independently and maintain confidentiality.
• Work with others in a pleasant and effective manner.
• Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
• High school graduate.
• Knowledge of and experience with all phases of payroll administration; school district payroll experience preferred.
• Ability to apply accounting principles to the maintenance of fiscal, budgetary/accounting records.
• Computer proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word, and ability to learn MUNIS accounting/payroll system.
• Ability to exercise professional judgment; perform several tasks simultaneously and independently; perform work involving written numeric data and to make arithmetic calculations with accuracy and reliability.
• Ability to perform tasks with a potential need to upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions.
• Ability to work in cooperation with others; communicate and deal effectively with employees, supervisors, staff members and maintain confidentiality.
• Knowledge of business English, spelling, punctuation and standard clerical techniques.
