1st Shift Chemical Blender We are seeking a skilled Operator to join our team. The Operator will be primarily responsible for making batches on first shift, based on written instructions, and keeping the plant clean. First Shift Operators also package batches as time allows. The plant operates two shifts Monday-Friday, 6:30am-3:30pm and 12:30pm – 9:30 pm. Day shift Operators are primarily responsible for making batches. 2nd shift Operators are primarily responsible for packaging large batches. The shifts do not rotate. *Duties* -Attendance and being on-time is critical as daily schedules based on customer orders are made for each operator. - Operate a forklift safely and follow all other safety rules. - Wear safety equipment all the time in the plant as required. Follow safety and environmental rules. Assist with keeping safety equipment (eye washes, safety showers, fire extinguishers) clean and ready to use. Address any hazards or unsafe behaviors as necessary. - Maintain a clean and organized work environment to prevent accidents and product contamination. - Add the correct raw materials in the correct amounts to each batch. Work as a team with other batch operators to double check raw materials prior to adding to each batch. Each raw material must be double checked and signed off prior to addition. - Add the correct weight of each raw material at the correct addition rate and mixing speed based on written instructions and training. - Accurately weigh packaged products and ensure packages (totes, drums, tank trucks) are clean and properly labelled, reflecting good quality product. - Package finished products through required filtration while completing detailed requirements for each product and customer. - Clean up after yourself and others as necessary. The plant manufactures liquid adhesives and requires everyone’s efforts to stay clean. - Complete all paperwork promptly and accurately. *Requirements* - Ability to work together as a team to accomplish shift goals. - Ability to follow written procedures, verbal instructions and unwritten practices after training. - Ability to organize and prioritize work effectively to get the most accomplished. - Initiative to accomplish shift goals and continuously improve as a member of the team. - Ability to solve problems with common sense and a safety focus. - Ability to perform basic math using a calculator and legibly write or print.
