The Huet laboratory (https://huetlab.com/) is seeking a talented and enthusiastic postdoctoral candidate with skills in standard molecular and cell biology techniques, as well as one or more of the following areas: biochemistry, proteomics, and microscopy.
We are part of the Center for Tropical and Emerging Global Diseases (CTEGD, https://ctegd.uga.edu/), one of the largest international centers focused on parasitology and tropical medicine. Our group is located in Athens, a vibrant city with a rich history, modern attractions, and a thriving arts scene. The successful candidates will be funded by our MIRA (R35) award, and will join a young, dynamic laboratory within an outstanding research environment.
We use a multidisciplinary approach that spans biochemical, genetic and proteomic approaches to explore the unique and divergent biology of apicomplexan parasites, using the model organism Toxoplasma gondii. We are particularly interested in understanding the structure and function of the apicomplexan ATP synthase, as well as the interactions between the different organelles of the parasite.
Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification In Position
• A PhD or equivalent in molecular parasitology, cellular biology, biochemistry or related fields.
• A strong background and proven track record in the above fields
• Expertise in standard molecular and cell biology techniques.
• Proficiency one or more of the following fields: biochemistry, proteomics, and microscopy
• Expertise in mammalian cell culture is a plus.

• Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills, and excellent attention to detail.
