A Ph.D. in chemistry or related field is required at time of appointment.
Position Summary
The University of Georgia Department of Chemistry (chem.uga.edu) invites applications for a tenure track faculty position in MATERIALS CHEMISTRY, beginning August 1, 2025, at the level of ASSISTANT PROFESSOR. This search is part of a cluster hire with other departments on campus, and research synergy and collaborations across the STEM disciplines will be encouraged. The candidate will exhibit a commitment to teaching physical, inorganic, or materials chemistry at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Candidates will be expected to develop a nationally recognized, extramurally funded independent research program, that includes working on large, multidisciplinary grant proposals.

1 to 2 years of postdoctoral experience is desirable.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities And/or Competencies
The successful candidate will have expertise in chemistry of materials for quantum technologies. Particular areas of interest include both experimental and theoretical research.
