Position Summary
The Department of Mathematics at the University of Georgia invites applications for a tenure-track position starting August 2025, at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The University of Georgia (UGA) is making significant investments in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Science to address some of society’s most urgent challenges, and has recently hired over 50 new faculty members across a wide range of disciplines as part of a Presidential Hiring Initiative in these areas. Candidates for this position should have a research program which is connected to AI or mathematical data science, broadly interpreted.

To be eligible for tenure upon appointment, candidates must be appointed as an Associate Professor, have been tenured at a prior institution, and bring a demonstrably national reputation to the institution. Candidates must be approved for tenure upon appointment before hire.
Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, and/or Certification Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
Candidates for this position should have a strong research record in Mathematics or Computer Science and should have expertise in AI or data science. Candidates for this position should also demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students, and an interest in the design of interdisciplinary courses or degree programs.
