About The College/Unit/Department
THE DEPARTMENT: The Department of Kinesiology has 29 full‐time faculty members and offers B.S., M.S., M.S.A.T. and Ph.D. programs in the academic areas of athletic training, sport management, exercise science, and health and physical education. Department faculty members are nationally and internationally recognized for their scholarly accomplishments, teaching excellence, and service to their professional disciplines. The Department has exceptional facilities in the Ramsey Center located on the main campus in Athens, Georgia. THE COLLEGE: As the 4th largest public college of education in the country and the 3rd largest college at UGA, the Mary Frances Early College of Education (MFE COE) improves the lives of residents of Georgia and beyond through our instruction, research, and service. The MFE COE is a comprehensive college with disciplines focused on teacher preparation, counseling and human development, communication sciences, human movement sciences, career development, student affairs, and educational administration and policy. We place significant emphasis on graduate education with approximately 40% of our students at the graduate level, making us the second largest college at UGA with respect to graduate education.

Position Summary
The Department of Kinesiology at the University of Georgia invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position at the assistant professor rank in the area of sport management to begin August 1, 2025. The Department seeks to hire a motivated faculty member with research and teaching interests broadly positioned in the business of sport. The Department is open to applicants from a variety of specializations to include, but not be limited to: management and organizational studies, strategy, marketing, consumer behavior, policy and governance, economics, analytics, or research methodology.

• Teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in the candidate’s area of expertise.
• Establish a high-quality, focused line of research that includes collaboration with undergraduate and graduate students.
• Seek external funding for research projects and/or educational programs.
• Advise graduate students and direct thesis and dissertation research.
• Participate in the development of the sport management program.
• Serve the institution and profession.
