Position Summary:
The Sr. Financial Analyst – Finance and Projects will play a pivotal role in driving the financial success of the Rolls Royce Solutions America organization. This position requires a deep understanding of commercial finance, including financial bids, customer processes, and overall business operations along with strong analytical skills. The incumbent will be responsible for providing strategic financial guidance, analyzing financial performance, and supporting business growth initiatives. The role is based onsite in Mankato, Minnesota.
Key Accountabilities:
• Act as a strategic advisor to the business, providing financial insights and recommendations that drive business decisions and project outcomes.
• Develop commercial solutions and strategies for complex commercial questions in project business. Manage changes and claims within a project.
• Prepare and manage financial calculations and reporting throughout the project.
• Oversee the financial lifecycle of projects from initiation to closure, including budget approval, funding, cash & cost control, and final financial reconciliation.
• Establish and monitor financial metrics for project performance, ensuring early identification of potential financial issues.
• Carrying out annual and monthly closing work, participation in budget planning and forecasts
• Enhance the risk management process by integrating financial risk assessments into project planning and execution.
• Develop financial models to assess the viability and profitability of new project initiatives or changes in project scope.
• Support overall legal entity planning process.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focusing on streamlining financial processes related to project management.
• Enhance communication with stakeholders by providing clear, concise, and actionable financial reports that align with business objectives.
• Lead the preparation of financial presentations for management, highlighting key financial insights and recommendations.
• Promote a compliance culture in area of responsibility and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls Royce Code of Conduct.
• Perform special projects as required.
Basic Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Controlling or Business Administration and 5 years of experience in controlling in a manufacturing environment or 9 years’ experience in controlling in a manufacturing environment.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability when issues are complex.
• Excellent knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
• Excellent knowledge of computer applications and controlled systems.
• Excellent organization, planning and follow up skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with others.
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong presentation skills
• Team player with strong ability to work independently and with little direction.
• Must be available to work flexible hours.
• Travel - domestic and international (if required).
• Highly Proficient in MS Excel and PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications:
• SAP experience highly desired
