JOB TITLE : Associate Dentist
JOB DUTIES: Perform Disimpaction, Transalveolar extractions, Apicectomy, Dentoalveolar fractures, Periodontal flap surgeries, remove jaw cysts and impacted wisdom teeth. Perform all duties of a dentist, including performing a complete oral examination, diagnosing and treating dental problems, and providing preventative and restorative care. Specific duties include: Examine patients' medical records. Prepare patients for treatment (e.g. by applying oral sedation or anesthesia). Check teeth, gums and other parts of the mouth, along with X-rays and tests, to diagnose dental problems. Clean teeth and remove plaque. Identify tooth decay and replace cavities with fillings. Design and fit dental prosthetics, such as bridges, crowns and dentures. Apply teeth-whitening treatments. Conduct tooth extractions and root canal procedures. Perform surgeries on diseased tissues and bones. Prescribe medication as needed. Educate patients on proper brushing techniques, flossing and fluoride use. Promote good oral health and preventive dental care (e.g. by scheduling regular check-ups). Meet with patients to discuss and treat dental concerns, performing regular cleanings and other preventative procedures, and establish a plan for better dental hygiene. Perform dental procedures, such as extractions, root canals, and filling cavities. Correct bite issues and overcrowding. Apply helpful agents to teeth, such as sealants or whiteners. Prescribe medications for dental problems, such as pain medications or antibiotics. Administer needed sedatives or anesthesia prior to administering treatments. Order diagnostic measures, such as x-rays, models, etc. Use tools, such as drills, probes, brushes, or mirrors, to examine and treat teeth and mouth. Keep records relating to the oral health of patients and the treatments given to them. Manage and communicate with other staff members to provide care to patients.
JOB REQUIREMENT : DDS/DMD and South Carolina General Dentist License required. A minimum of six months' dental experience is required. Experience should include any level of exposure to performing Disimpaction, Transalveolar extractions, Apicectomy, Dentoalveolar fractures, Periodontal flap surgeries, removing jaw cysts and impacted wisdom teeth.
HOURS : 40 hours per week, M-F, 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
