Position Summary: We are seeking a hands-on Chef to lead meal preparation at our assisted living facility. The Chef will be directly responsible for planning and preparing meals for our residents, with the support of a Cook as needed. This is a rewarding role for someone who enjoys cooking in a small, community-oriented environment and takes pride in delivering meals that cater to both taste and dietary requirements. Key Responsibilities: Prepare high-quality, nutritious meals for residents, ensuring all dietary needs and preferences are met. Oversee and work alongside the Cook to maintain efficiency and quality in meal preparation. Plan weekly menus that balance nutrition, variety, and resident satisfaction, consulting with the Wellness Director or Dietary Consultant as needed. Monitor food inventory, place orders, and manage supplies within budget. Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen in compliance with health and safety standards. Engage with residents to understand their preferences and receive feedback on meals. Assist with preparing meals for special events or celebrations within the community. Qualifications: Proven experience as a Chef or Cook, preferably in senior living, healthcare, or hospitality settings. Culinary training or equivalent experience preferred. Knowledge of dietary needs for seniors, including diabetic-friendly, low-sodium, and textured diets. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
