Job Summary Performs a variety of duties to support administration of the assigned department(s). # Job Responsibilities Composes, types, and transcribes correspondence, forms, reports, presentation materials, other written communications and may enter information and statistics into data management system. Greets customers, patients, visitors; Receives screens and routes telephone calls and takes accurate messages ensuring timely delivery; handles general inquiries; files and distributes mail; may assist with events and desk coverage as assigned. Schedules and coordinates meetings, conferences, special events, appointments, and travel arrangements; may keep reservations for CPR equipment check out Maintains assigned calendar(s), work area and related supplies and equipment Establishes and maintains filing systems; may assist with evaluating the office environment, revising procedures, improving efficiency of workflow and initiating cost reduction programs Orders and stocks supplies and may maintain supply inventory needed for daily training center operations Schedules and reschedules appointments and diagnostic testing using computerized scheduling programs; may schedule and register Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) class participants Accepts payments and co-pays and other fees for services provided; may bill and complete payment for CPR classes, educational materials, cards and rental of equipment Performs duties related to patient registration including gathering and documenting needed patient insurance and financial information, explanation of patient#s financial responsibilities for services received, and explanation of potential payment options and organizational collection practices. Performs duties related to billing including collecting and entering information necessary to file insurance claims, submission of insurance claims, follow up with insurance companies on unpaid or rejected claims, posting of payments received, and assisting customers with related questions. May complete deposits and assist in tracking revenue for training center through spreadsheets and documentation; may process, print and bill for CPR cards and e-cards sent in by instructors. Performs duties related to scheduling including insurance verifications and/or pre-authorizations, managing the referral work queue, entering patient demographic information, scanning documents into Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, assisting referring providers with needed information, and providing administrative support for Physicians or Nurse Practitioners; may enter CPR rosters and process cards for instructors through roster tool; may work with coordinator to ensure compliance with American Heart Association (AHA) regulation in processing cards and rosters for instructors. May teach CPR classes and oversee skills check and course completion both on and off campus; may set up and take down class materials and manikins, including cleaning manikins and other tasks needed; May serve as training center faculty to monitor instructor bi-annual compliance; May complete less routine and detailed work assignments Qualifications High school diploma, General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or higher required upon hire No experience required No licensure/certification/registration required Skills and Attributes Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment. Works under minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
