Location: Owensboro, KY
Term: Permanent
Salary: $80,000 - $105,0000 per annum.
A global manufacturing leader specializing in innovative electrical systems is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to optimize production processes, enhance efficiency, and lead continuous improvement initiatives. This role will collaborate closely with production leadership to develop workflows, tooling, and schedules that align with business objectives while driving Lean manufacturing principles.
The Manufacturing Engineer's Role Will Involve:
• Designing and detailing efficient assembly processes for a variety of products.
• Analyzing production workflows to optimize labor, tooling, materials, and overhead through continuous improvement methodologies.
• Developing, testing, and validating new manufacturing processes using advanced technologies and best practices.
• Establishing systems and procedures to support manufacturing operations effectively.
• Troubleshooting assembly issues and implementing solutions to improve production efficiency and product quality.
• Collaborating with engineering and design teams to ensure seamless communication of product updates to production personnel.
• Investigating and resolving manufacturing process issues causing quality challenges.
• Assisting in the creation and refinement of bills of materials (BOMs) and routings.
• Recommending and implementing capital equipment improvements to enhance production capabilities.
• Planning, coordinating, and executing manufacturing engineering activities for both current products and new product introductions.
• Driving capacity planning and productivity improvement efforts.
• Leading the implementation of new assembly technologies and processes.
The Manufacturing Engineer Will Ideally Have the Following Attributes:
• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, along with at least seven (7) years of experience in an electrical manufacturing environment.
• Experience in the assembly of mining or heavy equipment with electrical components is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated success in leading Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives, with measurable outcomes.
• Green Belt Six Sigma certification is advantageous.
• Comprehensive understanding of large-scale electrical assembly in low to medium-volume manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of production flow, tooling, and equipment capabilities.
• Proficiency in production planning tools and software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong interpersonal abilities.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Superior organizational skills with acute attention to detail and time management.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related tools.
• Willingness to travel overnight when required.
