Job Description
Title: Sr. Manufacturing Engineer

Position Summary:
The Sr. Manufacturing Engineer will work with the operations and design teams to plan and support the products being built in the production area(s). Utilizing lean manufacturing principles, this position is responsible for developing and implementing manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications, quality standards and safety regulations.
Key Accountabilities:
• Develops and implements optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods, including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment, in accordance with product specifications and quality standards.
• Work with organizational groups to develop and improve existing policies, procedures and controls through planning and implementation. Takes input from team members to provide accurate and appropriate feedback.
• Design and/or source, test and cost-justify various tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods.
• Maintain labor routings and operator worker allocations in SAP.
• Evaluate data and write reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards
• Evaluate and present recommendations to management for manpower, schedules, capacity, performance, and other key performance indicators.
• Write and implement work instructions, processes and procedures for production floor and the department.
• Provide technical assistance and support to manufacturing operations.
• Review processes and procedures in context of preserving and improving employee safety.
• Prepares and maintains detailed layouts of buildings, assembly areas, and equipment.
• Train production staff on processes and procedures.
• Coordinates manufacturing launch for new or revised products.
• Aid and assist in engineering change orders and production order changes.
• Promotes a compliance culture in area of responsibility, and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls-Royce Code of Conduct
• Performs special projects as required
Basic Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering and 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing engineering; or 9 years of manufacturing engineering experience.
• Excellent experience with the design of manufacturing processes
• Excellent ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Excellent project management skills
• Excellent organization, planning and follow-up skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Excellent analytical and complex problem-solving skills
• A continuous improvement mindset that is open to new approaches and embraces an agile working mode
• Familiarity with drafting nomenclature and conventions
• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with people
• Ability to negotiate
• Proficient with PC, MS Office Suite and MS Project
Preferred Qualifications:
• Practical experience using manufacturing simulation and CAD software
• OSHA certification/training
• Experience with SAP
• Basic knowledge of AC and DC electrical systems
