SUMMARY: The Human Resources Specialist will assist the HR Team with the administration of human resource activities across the entire employment life cycle including but not limited to selection and recruitment, performance management processes and activities, and payroll prep activities. They will be responsible for answering employee questions related to benefits, policies, and HR processes, performing data entry and running reports from the HRIS System. The role has the potential to expand into HR Generalist activities as experience grows.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assists with the selection and recruitment process, including posting positions, mining resumes, scheduling interviews and applicant testing for designated positions and scheduling pre-employment screenings and ensuring appropriate records are maintained.
• Supports administration, coordination, and application of company-wide human resources policies, procedures, and practices.
• Responds to inquiries regarding select processes, policies, procedures, and programs escalating issues to HR Manager as appropriate.
• Schedules and performs new employee orientation for the Owensboro facility
• Ensures completion of and tracking of on-boarding required documents
• Conducts exit interviews and communicates results of listening efforts
• Enters data into HRIS system and runs standard as well as custom reports
• Coordinates hourly payroll, which includes running reports, auditing data and reports, and submitting reports to Payroll for processing
• Assists with various research projects or other HR related projects
• Responds to employees’ benefit questions, assists with resolution of problems regarding access to or payment of benefits, assists employees with paperwork as needed
• Demonstrates a high level of professionalism in dealing with confidential and sensitive issues
Education, Experience, And Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or equivalent. HR Certifications are desirable
• 1-2 years of Human Resources experience. Experience in combination with education will be considered.
• Working knowledge of Human Resource laws and regulations
