Job Summary A high-volume automotive battery manufacturer is seeking a seasoned Engineering Manager to lead process innovation, manage engineering projects, and ensure operational excellence. This position oversees a team of engineers and works hands-on with automated and production equipment on the manufacturing floor, requiring experience in industrial engineering within a large-scale manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Lead engineering projects and process improvements to enhance efficiency and safety in a highly automated production setting. Oversee a team of 10 direct reports, providing direction, setting goals, and supporting professional development. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize throughput, improve ergonomics, and maintain a safe and compliant workplace. Ensure timely project execution within budget, coordinating with vendors and contractors as necessary. Enforce safety policies and support a zero-injury culture. Regularly assess engineering processes to identify enhancements in quality, cost-effectiveness, and process reliability. Develop and manage department budgets and expenditures. Direct engineering changes and manage full implementation from initial quote through to production approval (PPAP). Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in an engineering leadership role within a high-volume manufacturing environment. Experience with automated and production equipment. Strong project management skills with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget. Preferred: Six Sigma certification or equivalent experience in process improvement methodologies. Additional Requirements Must pass standard background checks. Willingness to participate in routine health screenings for safety compliance.
