TITLE: Retail and Event Concierge | Part-time or Full-time REPORTS TO: Tasting Room Manager and Event Director POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Tasting Room Manager and Event Director, The Retail and Event Concierge is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the guest experience at Chankaska Creek Ranch and Winery. This person will support the tasting room manager and Event Director in daily responsibilities required to keep activities running smoothly and ensure a positive guest experience. In addition, the Retail and Event Concierge will assist with the purchasing, inventory, ordering, maintenance and other operational functions and ensure a successful tasting room and event workflow and operation. Must have good communication, customer service and organizational skills, an outgoing and positive personality and enjoy working with the public in a fast-pace and exciting environment. Proficiency in operating systems and current policies is required. Hospitality experience recommended. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Job Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Tasting Room Manager and the Event Director, Retail and Event Concierge is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Retail and Event guest experience at Chankaska Creek Ranch and Winery. The job duties will include the following: Leadership/General: Project a professional appearance while being resourceful, friendly and respectful Represent company brand professionally, graciously and enthusiastically. Provide leadership in the absence of the Tasting Room Manager and/or Event Director. Work with managers to ensure follow through on promotions and sales incentives and to ensure sales goals met Assist with monthly staff meetings Give direction to staff and delegate responsibility as needed Assist with the training process for new staff Resolve guest/ employee concerns/complaints using good judgment, professionalism and courtesy Ensure execution of strategic initiatives to increase wine sales, conversion to club memberships and guest engagements at higher tiers. Act as liaison and contact point for tasting room and event staff and kitchen staff to assure cohesiveness and communication. Perform disciplinary action when needed Provide support, mentorship and leadership to staff to ensure a high standard of services while meeting sales goals Contribute to team using a “lead by example” technique remaining busy during down time, stocking, administrative activities and other duties when necessary Communicate with tasting room manager and event director on a regular basis Communicate actively with other departments and managers and external partners to maintain a positive and productive work environment. Monitor and control inventories, i.e. glassware, consumables, alcohol, etc. for all areas Complete administrative tasks supporting retail and events Tasting Room/Spirits Room/Events Work assigned shifts in all areas Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, customers and staff Oversee and ensure proper daily set up, opening and closing and breakdown of bars; Create checklists when appropriate to assure efficiency and consistency; Maintain a friendly warm and clean environment inside and outdoors Coordinate services for events, such as set-up, take-down, and shut down of the venue site, facilities, catering, signage, displays and special needs requirements Ensure up to date menus, signage, and promotional materials for all areas. Hold leads and staff responsible for daily checklists and procedures Create cocktails for seasons and special events and train staff on making the cocktails Demonstrate proficiency in Microworks software functions and be able to assist staff with questions Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in all areas Uphold the legal requirements of the establishment. Ensure proper cleaning and maintenance of equipment in all areas (see report form) and report to manager and/or grounds and vineyard manager all work orders/deficiencies when noted or when maintenance required. Ensure use of proper PPE and safety protocols, in work areas at all times Oversee deep cleaning projects and maintenance schedule Ensure all brochures, forms, menus are current, clean, user friendly and available Ensure efficiency and customer service- oriented processes in all areas Identify and propose and execute new opportunities for workplace improvement and revenue growth General Work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business including evening and weekend shifts Work with the Tasting room manager and Event Manager to cover all weekends and important events.
