Scottsdale Eye Surgery Center, P.C., is seeking a Billing Specialist to join our team! This person will primarily be responsible for eligibility and verifications, with the opportunity to take on additional tasks to support the billing and collection schedule at a busy surgery center. SESC is open Monday through Friday - no weekends, no major holidays. This position is part-time and hybrid, with the possibility of moving to full-time in the future. Responsibilities: ·Verifies patient enrollment data, especially insurance information. Posts all charges, payments, and adjustments in a timely and accurate manner. ·Maintains billing and collection schedule as outlined in Office Policy and Procedure Manual. Is aware of billing requirements of all contracts to maximize reimbursement. ·Understands and uses EMR filing system. ·Provides communication and assistance as needed to Revenue Cycle Manager, Administrator, Director of Nursing, and other staff. Works with Administrator in maintaining current facility tables, files, etc. (i.e. accounts receivable files, CPT tables, ICD-9 tables, etc.) ·Other duties as needed. Qualifications: · Medical office experience with an emphasis on coding and insurance billing is required. · Experience using EMR systems is required. ·Experience utilizing office equipment including computer, scheduling software, printer/copy machine, fax machine, etc. ·Excellent written and verbal communication skills. ·Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
