Overview
We are searching for an experienced Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager at our Mankato, MN facility.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager
We are searching for an experienced EHS Manager at our Mankato, MN facility. You will have the opportunity to lead EHS improvement in a seven day per week operation which supports National Defense, Aviation, and Emergency Response.
The ideal candidate will have professional EHS experience in a manufacturing environment. Professional training, education, and/or certification is ideal. The ideal candidate will also have experience with OSHA regulations and ISO 14001 as it relates to manufacturing, strong project management, process planning.
This position will be responsible for all EHS Programs for all personnel at the manufacturing facility and in the field. This position will have the support of the Business Unit General Manager to lead significant improvement in our EHS culture and results.
Responsibilities
• Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
• Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are taken.
• Lead safety training programs for all employees, including new hire orientation and ongoing training sessions.
• Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence with area leaders.
• Maintain safety records and documentation, including incident reports, training records, and safety audits.
• Support Workers' Compensation, incident, and injury management.
• Collaborate with management and employees to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
• Assist in the execution of Continuous Improvement (CI) strategies using Lean (5S) and Six Sigma methods.
• Reduce our environmental impact.
• Potential to support Safety improvement at other Senneca facilities.
• Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Business, Manufacturing or other related field strongly preferred.
Job Knowledge/Skills Required:
• Experience: At least five (5) years’ experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Manufacturing Environment: Extensive experience working in a manufacturing environment with Lean Manufacturing experience.
• Certifications: Safety certifications (e.g., CSP, CIH) are strongly preferred.
• Regulations: In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and experience ensuring compliance.
• Project Management: Proven experience in project management and process planning.
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, group presentation skills, and computer proficiency (including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
• Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to implement win-win solutions.
