Description:
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The PC Technician will work within the IT department to support and maintain all computer systems, desktops, and peripherals. This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading hardware and software to ensure optimal performance of all systems and user satisfaction.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide training and support to end users and staff on computer operation and other issues. This may be via phone, email or in person.
• Accurately document all appropriate changes made to equipment and software.
• Assist with network setup and maintenance when asked including racking and connecting routers, switches, and access points.
• Where required, install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot associated end user workstation software and networking software products.
• Perform on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex PC problems for a variety of end users, and recommend and implement corrective hardware solutions, including off-site repair as needed.
• Receive and respond to incoming calls, texts, Teams Messages and/or e-mails regarding IT problems in a timely manner.
• Maintain the inventory of all equipment by documenting all deployments, replacements, and discontinuation of all hardware.
• Monitor and test PC performance and provide PC performance statistics and reports as needed.
• Assist in preparing, maintaining, and upholding procedures for logging, reporting, and statistically monitoring PC performance.
• Accurately document instances of hardware failure, repair, installation, and removal.
• Conduct research on computer products in support of PC procurement and development efforts.
• Recommend, schedule, and perform PC, hardware and peripheral equipment improvements, upgrades, and repairs.
• Assist in developing long-term strategies and capacity planning for meeting future computer hardware needs.
• Assist in the development and implementation of new computer projects and new hardware installations.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of hardware and equipment contracts and assist contract-based installations.
• Plan and perform onsite ethernet cable runs for computer additions, building expansions, and new building acquisitions. This includes termination at patch panels and keystones, toning, testing, and labeling.
• Collaborate with other IT staff to ensure timely resolution of technical issues.
• Follow HIPAA regulations.
• Stay engaged in the communication methods used by the IT department. Teams, Email, SMS, and phone calls when necessary.
• The employee must be have their own reliable transportation and be capable of driving for regular travel on a moment s notice within the Corporation s service area
• Requirement for overnight travel is minimal.
• Performs other duties as requested by the Chief Information Officer

Education and Experience
• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
• Associate s Degree in Information Technology related field or 2+ years proven experience as a PC Technician or similar role in a Windows environment.
• Additional certifications in related Information Technology subject matter preferred but not required.

Physical Abilities and Work Environment
• Able to push, pull, reach, sit for extended periods of time, stand, walk, stoop, and stretch
• Ability to lift equipment up to 50 lbs
• Able to climb ladders to mount things on ceilings and run cable in ceiling spaces.
• Have full range of body motion
• Have the hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity needed to operate a computer, telephone, and copier
• Required to talk and hear
• Vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to focus on a computer screen for extended periods of time
• Noise levels in the work environment are quiet to moderate
• This position involves exposure to patient elements and bloodborne pathogens. The work environment is that of a medical practice that enforces safe OSHA compliant practice. HIPAA rules and regulations are stringently enforced
• This job also operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

Interrelationships:
• Works as an active member of the IT Department and interacts regularly with all staff across all departments on a regular basis.
• Works especially closely with the Endpoint Management Engineer to ensure all endpoints are operating at peak efficiency. Must take direction from and perform the duties asked by the Endpoint Management Engineer on a regular basis.
