Resident Service Coordinator
Understands and adheres to the Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy. Is familiar with the Resident's Bill of Rights and adheres to it. Appropriately communicates with resident and/or resident's family. Assures building is staffed 24 hours a day/365 days a year by scheduling resident assistants; prints and confirms daily schedules; approves all requests off, switches, etc. Fills in as a resident assistant in emergency situations and/or when shift cannot be covered. Assist with training of all new resident assistants, mentoring and coaching as needed. Performs chart audits at the end of each month. Assures medication sheets are in place and correct each month. Assures new resident paperwork is complete. Sets up doctors' appointments for residents as needed. Assists management staff where needed and as requested. Attend inservice training as assigned. Willing to help with special events, fill in for others to accommodate emergency situations. Maintains confidential treatment of information and communications. Must work as a team member with other personnel, supervisor and Housing Manager.
Qualifications
Previous experience working with seniors and passion for enhancing their lives. Ability to understand and communicate using specialized medical terminology. Ability to effectively present information to one-on-one and small group situations to customers, residents and other employees. Must be punctual and maintain a satisfactory attendance record. Must be flexible and adaptable to changing situations, able to work irregular hours, occasional evenings and weekends. Demonstrates good interpersonal skills, compassion and works with tact and ethical awareness. Must be able to prioritize and organize work effectively and efficiently. Ideally will have medical records or medial secretary education or experience. Must be able to perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. Must qualify for employment, after criminal background study, per guidelines of Minnesota Department of Human Services.
