Associate Engineer, Chemical Process Technology

Overview:
As a Process Engineer you will be responsible for scoping, designing, and following the execution and commissioning phases for projects that add capabilities, improve quality, or increase production capacity; as well as supporting the operations team with technical solutions and detailed troubleshooting to ensure the unit runs safely at entitlement rates while producing a quality product.
Responsibilities:
• Understands Chemical Engineering fundamentals and how to apply them to solve technical problems.
• Integration as part of a team with operations, ESHA, technical, and project engineers and manufacturing personnel.
• Develop flow schemes to determine mass and energy balances, control logic, and equipment specifications.
• Develops and issues process and trial letters to document process studies, designs, and evaluations.
• Works effectively and efficiently with multiple disciplines (e.g. Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, Global Process Technology, Process Control, Projects) in the execution of unit changes and capital projects.
• Interacting with leading internal and external experts, vendors, and other outside consultants to develop and implement improvements.
• Providing technical guidance on areas of expertise to plant manufacturing and engineering organizations.
• Conducts hazard identification (FMEA, What If, HAZOP) and manages risk through application of LOPA for process changes.
• Participates in or facilitates Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs).
Qualifications:
• Bachelors of Science in an Engineering discipline (Chemical preferred)
• Effective communication skills with the ability to communicate internally and externally with all levels of the organization.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated, extreme ownership mindset
Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Experience
• 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
• Prior experience working as a process engineer in the chemical industry
