Responsibilities:
As the CNC Operator for the HM and VMC machines, you will manufacture helical form components utilizing machine tools, hand tools and other equipment. Produce and inspect finished products against specified tolerances using precision measuring tools.
• Set up and operate CNC machines (horizontal milling) to perform machining operations according to specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, stage drawings, and job orders to determine dimensions and tolerances.
• Work in accordance with standard operating procedures, work instructions and other production documents.
• Perform work such as loading and unloading workpieces into machine using hoists.
• Monitor machine operations to ensure parts are produced according to quality standards.
• Make adjustments to machine settings as needed to maintain product quality.
• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as height gages, micrometers, calipers, ring gages and gages blocks.
• Maintain equipment. Detect and correct minor machine malfunctions and perform daily and monthly machine maintenance as directed.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work area.
Requirements:
• Proficient in operating CNC machines, specifically with experience using Fanuc or OSP
• Minimum 2 years experience of operating one of the following or similar machines: Doosan VMC, Doosan HM, Okuma HM.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and practices
• Familiarity with various types of tooling used in CNC machining.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, stage drawings, and job orders.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge and application of precise measuring instruments including but not limited to calipers, micrometers and depth gages.
• Experience using hand tools, and other equipment commonly used in machining operations.
Physical Demands:
• While performing the duties of this job, for a length of 8–10-hour shift, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, talk or hear. Hand and arm dexterity needed to load and unload components and handle inspection equipment.
• The employee must occasionally balance, stoop, kneel and crouch.
• The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Able to work a shift pattern if required.
This position requires attention to detail, strong technical skills, and the ability to work independently. The successful candidate will be a team player who takes pride in producing high-quality work.
