Operations Manager
Job Description
Our client is a leading system integrator that excels in designing and building modular machines with expertise in joining technologies, automation, and assembly techniques primarily for the automotive, metal processing and logistics industries.
The Operations Manager will manage the intralogistics business unit, located near Spartanburg, SC, with travel to North American customers and global stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with experience in the automation/ manufacturing/ system integration industries, with excellent communication skills and experience with customer negotiations.
Tasks
Strategic Leadership
• Lead U.S. market activities and resource planning at tactical and strategic levels.
• Prioritize company goals over individual unit results and support other business units as needed.
• Act as the main link between U.S. and NL teams to align goals and maintain effective communication.
• Contribute to business and budget planning, adapting to challenges with flexibility.
• Communicate strategic decisions clearly to internal teams and customers.
Operations
• Oversee operations with a high-level management approach, ensuring alignment with business plans and sales forecasts.
• Review project budgets and schedules and find creative solutions to meet capacity needs.
• Monitor KPIs, productivity, and process improvements, maintaining AWL standards.
• Lead escalations by coordinating with U.S. and NL teams to address internal and external issues.
Sales & Development
• Drive U.S. business development, building strong relationships with customers and industry partners.
• Provide operational and financial insights on new opportunities to guide growth.
Team & Compliance
• Promote a collaborative culture, support recruiting, define roles, and develop team skills.
• Ensure compliance with safety and corporate standards, maintaining efficient administrative processes.
Qualifications
Requirements:
• Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related field,or Business Management.
• Strong knowledge of the U.S. market relevant to the companys operations.
• Deep understanding of internal processes, project organization, and the unique challenges at both U.S. and group levels.
• Proven skills in project management, planning, and problem-solving.
• Proficiency with ERP systems, MS Project, MS Office, and other communication tools.
• Self-motivated, self-aware, and hardworking, setting an example for the team.
• Up to 30%, both domestic and internationally.
