Trim Crew Chief - Martinsville, VA
The Trim Crew Chief plays a key role in ensuring homes are successfully completed in a quality workman like manner. The primary responsibility of this position is to develop, lead and train team members to complete an interior and exterior finish safely and efficiently and maintain a safe and positive working environment.
Specific Duties
• Train team members on interior and exterior finish work on homes.
• Ensure team members have the home specific information necessary to successfully finish the home on site.
• Ensure each crew carries out end of shift/day procedures, such as restocking, refueling, and cleaning trucks and equipment and notifies management of any maintenance or repairs needed.
• Responsible for ensuring crews are properly staffed and prepared for the jobs assigned to them.
• Ensures that new team members are properly trained on home finishing procedures, equipment, and safety.
• Provide constant communication, feedback, and recognition to employees to promote a positive team member experience.
• Work site supervision when necessary.
Requirements
• Technical construction ability to manage construction resources and to diagnose and resolve field problems.
• Knowledge of all interior and exterior finish necessities.
• Ability to work well with others and train team players. Identify different areas of improvements and strengths for team members to help improvement.
• Maintain good attendance, good attitude and work efficiently and effectively in a timely matter.
• Ability to work in all environments (extreme heat/cold, rain/snow)
• Applicants are subject to a criminal background check and must pass a pre-employment drug screen
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Friendly, cooperative, and a team player
• Committed to a high level of customer satisfaction and takes pride in their work
• Strong communication, analytical and reasoning skills
• Professional and friendly customer service-oriented attitude
• Able to lift at least 50lbs
• Able to stand, stoop, push, pull, bend and climb for long periods of time
• Responsible for ensuring safe work practices on all job sites
• Able to climb ladders at tall heights
• Able to drive medium duty trucks and pull equipment
• Other physical duties, as needed
