Job Description
• Providing technical oversight on complex global mining mega projects with a focus on the engineering design of large tonnage copper concentrators.
• Directing and overseeing large teams of highly technical mining personnel including Engineering Managers, Technical Specialists, and Engineers.
• Leading and providing expertise in all engineering aspects of a project lifecycle, including the proposal, study, design and execution phases of complex mineral processing projects.
• Managing staff and providing an environment for their development and professional advancement, including:
Mentoring and coaching of Engineering Management Leaders
On-the-job and formal training of engineering personnel
Development opportunities through group training sessions (facilitating lunch and learns)
Timely performance feedback to Project Leaders
• Leveraging internal and external resources across the Mining & Metals business line and various Mining offices, as well as external vendors and subcontractors to ensure the timely execution of project deliverables.
• Troubleshooting, communicating and interfacing with Mining industry Client representatives to build, maintain and strengthen Client relationships.
• Advising from a technical engineering and construction perspective the development of project proposals for current and prospective Clients.
• Applying construction-driven and data-centric project execution methodologies to the successful delivery of projects.
• Organizing and prioritizing a variety of complex design engineering project tasks in an effective and timely manner, including setting priorities and meeting critical time deadlines.
• Maintaining compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and global standards.
• Adhering to and supporting Fluor's Health, Safety & Environmental and Sustainability Policies.
• May need to travel to attend to business related matters including visits to the mine sites, global Fluor offices, and Client offices.

Basic Job Requirements
• Accredited four year engineering degree, or global equivalent in engineering field of study, and 25 years experience providing technical oversight on complex global mining projects with a focus on the engineering design of large tonnage copper concentrators
• Managing and leading large projects
• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders
• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
Preferred Qualifications
• Professional registration;
• Advanced knowledge of discipline codes and standards, commercial availability and cost of materials;
• Advanced knowledge of engineering through all stages of a project from conceptual phase to design development, construction, and commissioning;
• Effort-hour estimating and staff forecasting;
• Project set-up, developing control-level schedules, progress reporting and project close-out;
Salary Range
176,500 to 334,500
Market Rate
The market rate for the role is typically at the mid-point of the salary range; however, variations in final salary are determined by additional factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
