Job Summary:
The Warehouse Material Handler/FLO will load and unload freight with the use of a pallet jack, hand truck or forklift, general labor, and warehouse maintenance. This position will take full charge of the assigned dock area, verify loads and process all accounts.
Shift: 10am-6:30pm, Monday - Friday (some OT and weekends may be required) This is a mid-shift
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Unloading trucks, by use of equipment such as hand truck or pallet jack, or by using forklift
• Reading customer orders, work orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed and/or shipped
• Verify and note the count and condition of cargo received, knowing when to either refuse or accept with notation.
• Record documents to appropriate forms and/or logbooks.
• Perform forklift duties and learn to cube basic loads.
• Assist in various warehouse maintenance tasks, including sweeping floors, storing equipment, etc.
• Perform required before, during, and after- operation “user maintenance” and provide required reports
• Maintain and protect all property entrusted to you in excellent condition
• Scan outbound shipments to ensure accuracy and quality control
• Ensure and comply with all procedures established to ensure product is being properly controlled
• Identify damaged items staged in outbound bays
• Inspect outbound products for quality assurance
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to operate forklift, hand truck and pallet jack.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
• Respond promptly and professionally to customer needs.
• Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.
• Can operate RF scanner
• Read, comprehend and complete basic checklists, forms or other related documents.
• Balances team and individual responsibilities.
• Consistently at work and on time.
Education and Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred;
• One year of related work experience is preferred.
• Hazmat certification/experience preferred
Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged periods walking, standing, stooping, kneeling and crouching/crawling.
• The Team Member is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance.
• Team Member must regularly lift and/or move up to ten pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to fifty pounds.
