Job Description
The purpose of this position is to use established practices and guidelines applying educational knowledge of design engineering principles as listed. This position supports the Area Lead or Lead on assigned projects and, under direct supervision, performs routine aspects of engineering assignments, applying basic engineering principles.
• Perform and check routine calculations, specify simple equipment, and solve problems of simple engineering complexity.
• Review vendor equipment documentation within the discipline and from other disciplines for compliance with project requirements, and actively seek discrepancy resolution.
• Participate in equipment and material procurement activities.
• Adhere to industry codes and standards as well as department practices and procedures.
• Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines.
• Organize and prioritize multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Other duties as assigned.

Basic Job Requirements
• Progress towards an accredited Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical or Nuclear Engineering; and a combination of education and directly related work experience equal to minimum three (3) years.
• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job.
• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines.
• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner.
Other Job Requirements
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Basic knowledge of:
• Performing hydraulic, heat transfer, material balance and flow calculations
• Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
• AFT Fathom and/or Microsoft Excel for various calculations
• Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet and electronic presentation programs.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with use of AFT Fathom, Bluebeam Rev
• Practical field experience
Preferred Qualifications
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Typically has one (1) year of field construction experience
• Ability to speak/read multiple languages
• Basic computer and software skills to include the use of word processing and email as well as the basic use of spreadsheets
Salary Range
45,000 to 82,000
Market Rate
The market rate for the role is typically at the mid-point of the salary range; however, variations in final salary are determined by additional factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
