Job Summary Performs diagnostic electrocardiograms (EKGs), monitor placement (Holter, event, and mobile telemetry) and stress testing providing patient education associated with studies. # Job Responsibilities Attaches electrode leads to proper body areas based on ordered tests. Prepares skin and surroundings to ensure valid results. Obtains and documents EKG readings as directed. Programs monitors and registers patients on-line depending on the ordered monitor. Monitors patients during procedures and reports any abnormal findings. Identifies and corrects artifacts. Notes and forwards results to physicians for analysis and interpretation. Maintains equipment and supplies. Monitor and process EKGs in the EKG software and the electronic medical record (EMR). Qualifications High school diploma, General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or higher preferred No experience required BLS - Certified as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required within 90 days of employment in this position Skills and Attributes Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment. Works under minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
